About this program

Skills that build the world we want.

Practical training for people ready to build change.

  • Sustainable construction basics

For crews supporting Eco Building: safe, code-aware, and field-ready.

  • Regenerative growing

Soil literacy, composting, and seasonal planning for community garden leads.

  • Volunteer leadership

For the people who run our local crews and translate intent into project.

Skills that build the world we want.

Education & Training is the connective tissue between every other program we run. The methods we research only matter if people can learn them, teach them, and pass them on. We design practical, accessible training that puts capability in the hands of the people doing the work.

What we teach

  • Sustainable construction basics, for crews supporting Eco Building.
  • Solar and small-scale energy fundamentals, for partners running our pilots.
  • Regenerative growing and composting, for community garden leads.
  • Material recovery, sorting, and refurbishing, for Second Life Collective volunteers.
  • Volunteer leadership and project management, for the people who run our local crews.

How we teach

Hands-on, on-site, and at the pace of the people learning. Classroom is a supporting tool, not the main one. Our trainers are working practitioners; every instructor leads or assists on real projects.

Get involved

We need experienced practitioners willing to teach, and we welcome learners at every level. Curriculum partnerships with schools, vocational programs, and community colleges are especially welcome.

Current focus

What is underway right now.

  • Recruiting

    First instructor cohort

    Open call for practitioners

Working practitioners willing to teach alongside their day-to-day work, with small honoraria and big impact.

  • Open call

    Curriculum partnerships

    Schools, vocational programs, community colleges

Co-developed courses with credit pathways for learners.

Training is the multiplier. One trained crew lead makes the next ten projects possible.
